Melanie Carter-Smith’s was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ came a rising starlet in a Christian home, the 4th of 6 children. Melanie Carter-Smith always had a style of her own. Instilled with Godly principles, she clung to the values John and Dolores Carter taught to the whole family. In high school, Melanie performed at Henry Snyder High her Alma Mater with the group, The Imperials. She has since progressed to bless her city at a host of Community based choir/group Events. Melanie, is a former member of The New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and served in several choirs and organizations for over 20 years. A signature voice to her family group, The Carter Sisters, currently known as "J'Carter", Melanie has shared the lead with these talented voices by blessing many in song from her youth through the present. Together she has claimed titles “Winner of The McDonald’s Gospel Fest (Adult Category), Winner of The Gospel Show Down - Sean ‘P-Diddy’ Combs Restaurant , Top 10 International Pick in The Gospel Dreams Contest (Group Category) and she has graced the stage of the historic Apollo Theatre. Stepping out of the box, Melanie's gotten her feet wet in musical stage plays entitled “The Road To Calvary”& "Broken Faith" under the direction of Andrea Carter, CEO and Founder of Playtime Productions. Melanie is currently a Praise and Worship leader, and one of the Choir Directors of her home church Salvation, Healing and Deliverance Center. Melanie has shared her gift of song at Church Services, Weddings, Conferences, Corp. Office Parties, Concerts, Clubs and even Funerals. Melanie shares her passion of music with anyone that will listen. Melanie is a gifted Singer, Writer, and Composer with sweet honey tones that will take you from glory to glory! Melanie has worked with several artists and producers. Growing up; The Clark Sisters, Daryl Coley, Anita Baker, Sade, The Winans, and Whitney Houston were just a few of her musical influences, however the Contemporary and Inspirational Music God has inspired Melanie to write is for the Sinner and the Saint of today. Melanie Carter-Smith is called to reach the lost at any cost with the Raw Truth, Words of Wisdom, The Sound of Hope and most of all offering the Free Gift of Salvation to the Nations by acknowledging the Power of the Cross. Melanie has been commissioned by God to branch off into the Professional Christian Music Realm with her Freshman Project and recently released her first New Single entitled, "Just For Me". As God directs, 'Failure Is Not An Option' and she isn't afraid to go into uncharted waters to bring the message of Jesus Christ to every part of the Earth! Melanie is extremely grateful to God for every blessing. Many doors are opening and her gift is making room for her. Melanie’s main goal is to touch every life she encounters with the Love of God. She lives by her favorite scriptures; John 3:16, Psalms 91, and Philippians 4:13.
